“Are you looking forward to fall?” from the September 20, 1977 Door County Advocate
Linda Adams asks
Are you looking forward to fall?
Marie Mikels, R. 5: “I love the fall — it’s so cool, crisp and pretty. I also like the fall because I always get a surge of energy at that time of year.”
Joe Lindsey, 420 Delaware: “No way am I looking forward to fall. I can’t stand the cold.”
Linda Williams, 750 N. 8th: “I think fall and spring are the prettiest times of the year. I’m always glad to see fall come. It seems at that time there is a return to the home atmosphere. As the weather gets cooler people start spending more time at home and doing things there.”
Larry Maas, R. 5: “I really like the fall because I know spring will be just around the corner. I like to work in my garden and when my friend returns my rotor tiller then I can start getting my garden ready for spring.”
Gladys Smith, R. 3: “No and yes. I am looking forward to fall because it brings us peace and tranquility. However, I’m not looking forward to fall because I don’t like winter.”
Wayne Eastman, R. 2: “Yes, I would say I am. I really enjoy the falls in Door county. Normally they are very nice. I like the coloring, the weather and being outdoors. In a normal year I enjoy riding my horses in the fall but this year after back surgery I’m not able to do that.“
