DISCUSS 13-MONTH CALENDAR TUESDAY
—————
C. C. Wants Opinion of Public Before Vote on Referendum
—————
Faced with the matter of having to cast a vote in the United States Chamber of Commerce referendum on the proposed 13-month calendar, the Door County Chamber of Commerce has enlisted the cooperation of the Sturgeon Bay high school to secure a public meeting next week Tuesday evening, September 15, at 8 o'clock in the high school assembly room to discuss the question.
Many referenda are sent out by the United States Chamber of Commerce, but this question is one which merits more than passing consideration, is the view of Karl R. Reynolds, president of the local organization. Agitation for the 13-month calendar has been going on for some time and several plans have been proposed.
Several aspects of the new calendar will be discussed at the meeting in the form of a round-table program. W. B. Calvert will discuss the matter from a business standpoint; E. C. Morganroth, historical; Joseph Slabasheski, scientific; and Supt. J. A. VanNatta, educational.
A faculty vocal quartet, consisting of Prentice Hale, Mr. Calvert, Miss Marie Larson and Miss Margaret Fritschler, and a string trio, consisting of Miss Larson, Miss Fritschler and Miss Eunice Thomas, will present musical numbers.
