Lighthouse Offered for Sale
The Dunlap reef lighthouses, situated on the middle ground in Sturgeon bay, which were discontinued last spring and replaced by gas light buoys, are being offered for sale to the highest bidder through the office of the superintendent, 12th district, Milwaukee.
The property to be sold consists of a frame dwelling, having a ground plan about 23x25 feet, one and one-half stories high, finished and plastered inside, and standing on a crib.
It has a low wooden tower raised from one end. The metal portion of lantern house and its plate glass windows have been excepted in the deal, as is also the stone filled timber foundation crib. The specifications state that the entire structure shall be removed down to the dock level of crib. A frame shed attached to the dwelling is also included in the sale.
The front light tower is a small frame, six sided structure, about 8x8 feet in diameter at the base and is about 12 feet high above the crib.
