"Are you looking forward to the return of the tourist season in Door county?" from the May 23, 1978 Door County Advocate
Linda Adams asks
Are you looking forward to the return of the tourist season in Door county?
Kay Falk, 628 S. 12th: "I'll be anxious to see the results of traffic knowing that the new bridge will be completed. Like most residents of Door county I'm looking forward to the tourist so they, too, can appreciate what the county has to offer as those of us who live here year around."
Corrine Sitte, Sister Bay: "Yes, I am looking forward to the tourists. I work at Al Johnson‘s restaurant and I enjoy working with people."
Beverly Powell, Fish Creek: "We were fortunate enough to have tourists all year long at Powell's Country Inn. We were open throughout the winter and we had lots of cross country skiers and snow-mobilers and people up for a nice drive and now we are looking forward to more summer visitors."
Darlene Weber, Washington Island: "That's a difficult question to answer. At this time of year I'm looking forward to it (tourist season) but by August I'll say I'll be happy when the tourists are gone."
Jan Wiegand, 646 Georgia: "It gives the county something to have pride in because the county is beautiful enough to attract people. Residents should be thankful we live in a place people like to visit. I do think that Sturgeon Bay ought to do something to show tourists the shipyards. Many people visiting the county want to know about the shipyards. Maybe there could be a slide presentation or something worked in with the Maritime Museum."
Liz Birnschein, R. 3: "I'm looking forward to summer coming and new people in the county. I think it will be better when the new bridge is open so it will be easier for travelers."
