Mission Rally Is Scheduled
The 26th annual Mission Rally of the Missionary association of Catholic Women will be held at St. Rose of Lima church and auditorium, N. 30th and W. Michigan sts., Milwaukee, Tuesday, June 12.
Archbishop Albert G. Meyer will celebrate the pontifical low mass at 9 a.m. and will preach the sermon. Mrs. Joseph Goekel, president, will open the general meeting at 10:30 a.m. and Msgr. John J. Clark pastor of St. Rose, will extend greetings.
Morning sessions will feature the Rev. Emmanuel Jacques, a Belgian priest who has worked many years in Vietnam and will relate his experiences.
Miss Violet Nivile, England, representing the international Catholic auxiliary, society for lay mission workers, will speak on “The Catholic Layman in the Mission Field.”
Afternoon sessions will begin with Fr. Harold Rigney, author of “Four Years in a Red Hell,” who will relate “My Experiences in Communistic China.” Sr. Miriam Louise, who has worked in China and Philippines, will speak on “Maryknoll Sisters in the Orient.” A movie depicting the work of Sr. Mary Mercy of the Mercy Clinic in Korea will be shown.
An evening session will be held for the benefit of men, women, and youth who are not able to attend the day sessions.
