PLAY PROGRAM TO START NEXT WEEK

Registration Monday; Activities Begin on Tuesday

Sturgeon Bay’s first public playground program will get under way next Monday with registration at the high school gymnasium of all boys and girls from lower grade age on up, and not wanting to delay activities, work will be started the following day. The schedule announced by Coach Cliff Fagan or next week will be as follows:
Next Week’s Schedule
Monday, June 7—Registration for all groups in the High School Gymnasium promptly at 10 a. m. and 1:30 p. m.
Tuesday, June 8—9:00-11:45 Soft ball and group games for boys and girls under 12 years of age. 1:30-3:00 Baseball for boys from 12 to 17 years of age. (Sunset Park), 3:00-4:30 Beginning Tennis instruction for boys and girls. (Sunset Park).
Wednesday, June 9—10:00 a. m. Hike for all boys. (Bring your own lunch). 1:30 p. m. Hike for all girls. Girls will not take a lunch this time. This hike will be led by Mrs. Fagan.
Thursday, June 10 — 9:00-11:45 Kick Ball, Dodge Ball, races for boys under 12 years. 1:30-3:00 Tumbling and Stunts for boys 12 to 17 years. 3:00-4:30 Advanced Tennis for boys and girls. (Sunset Park).
Friday, June 11—9:00-11:45 Group games and Diamond Ball for boys and girls ages 6 to 12 years. 1:30-4:30 Baseball league games for boys 12 to 17 years.
(*) The boys going on the hike from Sawyer will meet at their playground at 9:30 and join the boys at the market square at 10:00 to start the hike.
As noted, the program will take care of all boys and girls of ages 6 to 12 in the mornings and all boys and girls 12 and up in the afternoon.
Will Keep Records
Persons enrolling Monday will have a chance to check on registration blanks the sports and games they prefer, and attendance records will be kept to determine which activities are the most popular.
Handicraft will be taught to those who wish it, but the persons taking the instruction will have to furnish their own material, and no funds are available for their purchase. Kinds of handicraft offered will be wood carving, simple boat making, kite making, model airplane building and soap carving.
Pet Show, Circus Day.
During the summer, Mr. and Mrs. Fagan will have special events for the youngsters and older boys and girls, such as pet shows, circus day, etc.
Each week, the program for the following week will be published in local papers and on bulletin boards at each playground.
