Teen show Easter night; Sister of Beatle feature
Entertainment for the Easter Dance at Corpus Christi hall Sunday evening will be provided by the Dick Clark Hitsville Show which is presently touring the Middle West. The show is headlined by two singing groups with records on the nation hit list — the Tradewinds and Reparata and the Delrons.
The Tradewinds is a male vocal group of four young Easterners who have been popular on the night club circuit. Their recent recording of “New York’s a Lonely Town” has brought them national fame.
Reparata Aiese, Carol Drobnicki and Sheila Reillie started singing together three years ago in a musical at their Brooklyn high school. Their first recording, “Whenever a Teenager Cries,” still ranks high on national listings, while their more recent release, “Tommy,” sold 50,000 copies the first day it was out.
Other recording stars appearing on the show are Lou Christie, Round Robin (George Lloyd), and Louise hails from Caldwell. Louise hails from England — she is the sister of George Harrison of the Beatles and is now launching her singing career in the United States.
Music for the show as well as for dancing will be provided by Gene Jones and the Impacts, one of the top combos in show business today. The Impacts provide the versatility needed to give musical support to such a variety of stars in the Hitsville Show.
Advance tickets for the show-dance may be purchased at the Ace Record Shop for $1.50. Admission price at the door will be $2.00.
