What will you give thanks for this Thanksgiving
George Arle, Sister Bay: "I'm thankful because I had a stroke and I'm still on my feet."
Mary Zuehlke, 1114 Memorial Dr.: "I'm thankful for so many things that it is hard to enumerate. I think the blessings in my immediate family is one of the first things to come to mind."
Irvin Berns, Baileys Harbor: "I've been very sick in the hospital for the past two months and I am thankful that I have faith in my God and prayer. I'm living alone and it's hard so I'm dependent on others to help and I'm thankful for their help."
Cleo Fowler, Washington Island: "I'm thankful for our family, our two sons, for good health and for a chance to be living in this gorgeous area."
Edward Price, R. 1, Brussels: "I'm thankful for many things, especially for health."
Shirley Paul, Cove Rd.: "I'm most thankful that we are all together and all happy and healthy this Thanksgiving and we hope everyone else will have a nice day."
Marion Birdsall, R. 5: "We are thankful for the good harvests and the abundance of food we have on our table. We are also thankful that our six daughters and 11 grandchildren came home, however, we will miss our son who is a priest in Baltimore, Md. We all attend church on Thanksgiving morning to give thanks for our blessings."
Pastor Richard DeBenedetto: "I'm thankful for a special wife and a happy little girl; for home, family and friends. I'm thankful to be free from oppression, poverty and hunger. I'm thankful that I can smile at yesterday, live with today and look forward to tomorrow. But most of all I'm eternally grateful to be a servant of my Lord because through him all of life truly becomes a blessing."
[Rev. DeBenedetto was the pastor at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.]
