The politicians and all of us can holler all we want about inflation and how we should cut back but I think it's a hopeless case.
We can complain about all the cost and waste of government but I don't see how the rest of us are any better.
How many of us would be willing to stay with the same salary or even take a cut, making up for it by cutting our spending?
It's the same with women's lib and equal pay for equal work. Lowering a man's wage to a women's would be unthinkable. We have to raise women to the men.
It's the same with sports. We don't dare cut boys sports, we have to raise girls sports up where the boys are.
And even with the rising price of gas and electricity, there ain't been any cutting back. People just expect a boost in wages or social security to make up for it.
So I guess if we're hollering about government spending and waste maybe we ought to think of it like we do charity and begin at home.
